2005 Hatchlings!

Updated 8/25/06

From this.. (note dates)

to this.. in 1 week!

Another "first" pic of very first hatchling ever..

Shown above just 2 months from hatching.. the deep orange..
typical of the "Colombian" .. is really starting to show. What a beauty!

Now.. shown just shy of five (5) months from hatching.. see the orange and especially
the smooth even growth.. as a result of proper diet and plenty of humidity.
See"Caresheet" link..

Now over 9 months.. colorful and smooth..

This shows how hatchling youngsters should look.. see "Caresheet"!!!

Just LOOK at the variety of colors.. in this link.. 3pages!

Female "Colombian" Redfoot

Click on link here to see the breeders that have produced eggs..
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v41/clemmysman/Redfoot%20tortoises/

Redfoot tortoises.. from South America.. do not "hibernate".. they breed "almost" year round.
Egg laying starts in early August thru early March sometimes.
With an incubation cycle of 120 - 150 days.. there is little break in the incubation process.
Note dates and names at bottom of individual pics.

Receipt for "BREEDERS"..

Found this the other day (11/01/05).. they will have their 8th "birthday" soon .
I'll see if I can find early pics.. before digital! Notice date of receipt..

(I really had no idea what I was getting at the time)...

Robert's is no longer in the reptiles business... An old friend!!!

Ha-Ha-Ha... I found them!!!.. maybe 4-5 inches.. 2 - 3 years old???.. I forget!

I believe these are the earliest pics that I have.. that show their size..
it's hard to imagine that they were ever this small!
Actually they were really much less than half this size when I got them.. and now they are making babies.

(Pre-digital pics scanned)

"Guyana" locale..

My alpha Guyana is known as "Sonshine".. a beauty that is now approaching 13"..
and will probably continue to grow for a few more years..

And this is her first hatchling since I have had her.. see how RED??

Sonshine and another baby.. in the sun..

And the alpha "Guyana" male that has produced his share of the hatchlings..

See why these "Colombian" and "Guyana" hatchlings are so gorgeous??

.. visits since 2.15.05
